I remember Blue Coral in Batangas because when our family reunion plans in 2006 were ruined by typhoon Milenyo, we looked for a resort nearer to Lucena. We eventually settled for La Luz, but we saw so many signs for Blue Coral while looking for La Luz, my tita joked that we should just stay at Blue Coral!

Heneral Luna-for making people interested in our history. There have even been debates on this movie as well as about our heroes. Imagine that. To think, it was written off as a flop when it first screed. But thanks to word-of-mouth and a strong clamor from internet fans, it went on to become one of the biggest films of the year!

After the chaos of Cristna Villas resort last year, we wanted a place where we could truly relax and so I found some new places in Antipolo. Since we were trying to be more economical this year, we went to Tagaytay using a lot of budet-savvy tricks.
We went to Tagaytay early in morning to avoid the traffic. But since our rooms wouldn't be ready till noon, we spent the morning at the St. Scholastica's retreat house where my mom and sister knew the nuns.

Even the Mama Mary in the grotto was covered with a purple veil
We got irritated at the exorbitant parking fees some people in Manila were charging us during our Visita Iglesia in Manila 2 years ago that we decided we wouldn't be fooled again. So we've decided to stay in the South side of the Metro--Paranaque.
First stop was our parish of Padre Pio. (See photo above)

I gave Jon a gift certificate from the Bistro group of companies for his birthday. Little did I know that he would use that to treat us for his birthday.
I was a bit scared that he would go over budget since I looked up the price range of the meals there and I saw that it would be around P400/person without drinks.

This is heresy coming from a DC comics fan but I loved how this superhero movie tackled a dark topic without losing the fun part of its source material, unlike DC's Man of Steel, which felt so serious it got dreary.
