Father's Day celebration at Mesa

Ok, confession, we actually celebrated Father's Day a week early because we thought it was on the 2nd Sunday of June. No wonder we were able to get reservations for Mesa easily. hehehe! But it was all for the best as we avoided the crowds and we were all together, which is the most important thing.

Mesa is owned in part by Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, husband of Sharon Cuneta. It is one of the most affordable restos in posh Greenblet 5 that's why the place is always full. It's also a bit small so I actually had to walk sideways on my way to the similarly cramped restroom.
For starters, we had Baked scallops with butter (P210) which I loved the most!
Thai-inspired hito flakes on a spoon(P180) My sister is quite proud of this photo she took.
Looks great Twinx!
This is the mixed vegetables platter(P150) which was  a bad choice. A fresh salad would have been better

Seafood bean curd(P190) very flavorful. My sister loved this, maybe because it tastes like Japanese Ramen noodle soup.

Drunken ostrich(P350) sounds good but was actually quite bland. My mom had to ask for patis for this.

Inihaw sampler(P670) should have been a safe bet but they slathered everything with barbecue sauce which made verything taste the same! It would have been better if they just let the flavor of the meat and seafood shine. Overall, while the food was ok, we were not impressed. We'd rather eat at Gerry's Grill.

Walang magawa sa mall.
For dessert, Twinx treated us to Gelatissimo, a pricey Italian ice cream stall that lets customers sample the gelato on a tiny spoon for free.
Maybe that's why 1 scoop costs P110 and 2 scoops costs P160. Amici has cheaper gelato at P65 but Gelatissimo has more exciting flavors like Chili Chocolate and Macadamia & Caramel, my favorite!
