Brother's Burger

We went to Brittany Bay in Posadas for merienda and ate at Brother's Burger, which serves rather pricey (PhP84) but delicious grilled burgers. The burger patties which used to be huge have been downsized. My sister seemed aghast at the prices so we decided not to order milkshakes(PhP85). We did order the french fries and onion rings and lemonade and iced tea...but now I kinda regret not ordering at least one strawberry or choco milkshake. Life's too short to worry about cholesterol and cash!

But the real clincher is the location. We had a pleasant view of Laguna Bay and a cool, albeit windy setting to interview my parents about People Power.

Ma and me sharing the more expensive Angus burger (PhP200+) which tasted just like the regular burger, only thicker.

Here's Jon and Twinx.

Don't ask.

I have no idea...

Reminiscing

We stopped by Don Bosco Church in Makati for our Visita Iglesia and I just had to have a picture taken by this short bridge between San Lorenzo Village and the church. I used to wait here for Pa to pick me up after his work. I don't know how I withstood staying here beside the smelly, stagnant creek while I did my assignments...but I had good company in the form of Daniel, who I knew since prep school. Later, when I found the courage to cross the street, I found my way to Makati Cinema Square's Booksale to look for comics. (Wala pang pirated dvds nuon)

Gerry's Grill

Ginataang kuhol

Gerry's is one of my fave restos because of the tasty food at affordable prices. I just wish their food quality were a bit more consistent, though. While I have no complaints about the SM Bicutan branch, their Pasay Road,Makati branch was not as good. (Napahiya yata ako sa Tita ko dun!)
I recommend the Crispy Tadyang as an alternative to the Crispy Pata. Also try the adobo rice and guinataang kuhol which reminds me of another restaurant (now closed) called Pinausukan which served this same dish and complimentary kangkong and bagoong.

Grilled squid---they have a funny menu filled with side comments like "you haven't been to Gerry's if you haven't tried this"

Crispy Tadyang

Pa trying to lower my ma's raised eyebrow. Don't piss her off with slow service!

never forget

taken on feb 25, 2007. i was really irritated at a person who contributes to our paper who said nothing had changed in the 20 years after the EDSA people power revolution. WRONG! Freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, your freedom to bitch all came from the bravery of heroes like my parents who faced down the tanks in a time before texting and live broadcast from CNN.
